FoxyTunes Extension
posted by Tyrantmizar at 5:50 pm EST on November 16, 2005If you’ve ever listened to music while surfing the Internet, then FoxyTunes is for you.
FoxyTunes is one of those status bar hogging extensions, but who uses the status bar anyway? It seems like a lot of empty space to me. However, if you like that empty space, you can always shrink it or expand it.
FoxyTunes is a set of controls for just about any media player. You can do most things that a media player does (you still need the media player itself) without leaving the browser. It will also show you a general progress bar for your music, so you can instantly check what point you’re at in this song.
FoxyTunes is useful if a song comes up that you absolutely abhor, and you want to skip a track as soon as possible. Alternately a song could come up that you adore and you want to turn up the volume as soon as possible.
FoxyTunes also comes skinable. From its official site, you can download “skins” for FoxyTunes that don’t really affect any other part of Firefox.
FoxyTunes is an excellent part of a complete breakfast an excellent extension for Firefox. Download it if you like music, avoid it if you don’t.
