About Me
posted by Tyrantmizar at 7:46 pm EST on November 14, 2005I’ve created an “About Me” page. You can see it here or from the sidebar.
I’ve needed to put one up for a long time.
People need to know who’s the guy behind the writing, you know?

The All-In-One-Sidebar extension for Mozilla Firefox aims to be what its name implies: a sidebar extension with a whole bunch of different sidebars.
It comes with a lot of features, and yet is still quick and easy to use. A bit difficult to understand what all of the options and features do at first, but after a day or so of using it becomes much clearer.
If it slows down Firefox in any way, I didn’t notice it.
Some features I like are:
(for best results, say this in a really bad fake-surprise-attempt tone of voice) Oh wait (*gasp*), I forgot one!
The most useful feature (all of them are, but this one is a personal favorite) is the ability to transfer the current page into the tab.
You can go to any page, and transfer it to the sidebar (see the picture). From there you can click any link you want and it will load in the tab (not the sidebar). With the right sites, you can have a directory of links from which to surf the web.
Just use it on digg del.icio.us or Reddit and surf the web from your side bar. Heck, it even works on digg spy!
I admit this feature isn’t that good with most sites. The small width makes most sites look crappy. Regardless, with sites of links or relatively simple sites it is dead useful. (It doesn’t work well with BlinkList though)
All in all, All-In-One-Sidebar is a useful and flexible extension. Many of its features can be found in other extensions, but if you tried installing them all I can assure you, you would run into massive compatibility issues. Just about all of the seven dozen (it seems) features are very useful, and a quick list at the “To-do” list at the website shows that this extension still has a lot of features that will be added.
Trust me when I say this extension is useful. I used to despise sidebars, but after All-In-One showed me just how useful they can be, I don’t anymore. I look forward to more features in the future!
