Thompson is Truly a Nutcase

posted by Tyrantmizar at 12:53 pm EST on October 22, 2005

Advanced Media Network has a wonderful article about how wrong Jack Thompson is. He goes on to prove it by using the Constitution of America, and little more. He disproves many of Thompson’s ideas with pointing out that the Bill of Rights, part of the supreme law of the land in America, prohibits exactly what Thompson wants to do. The article is definitely worth a read.

One excellent quote:

I’ll be frank with you all, as always. As I write this, I’m in the midst of my third semester in college, sitting in the passenger seat of a car going east on Interstate 4 in Florida. Somehow I was able to come up with these four grounds on which Thompson’s arguments are made invalid. Surely as an established attorney with decades of experience, one would expect Mr. Thompson to have at least as much knowledge of constitutional law as I do. He claims in his letter to Governor Bush that he knows, “…what is constitutional and what is not in this vineyard. I certainly stand ready to help each of you and your staffs to defeat what will be well-funded and baseless assaults by this cash-flush industry that will come with any legislative success to protect kids.” Yet I’d like to point out that I’m on no one’s bankroll in the gaming industry, my “assaults” are based on Constitutional fact and that Thompson’s claim to be a constitutional expert is apparently skewed.
